I have a customer that uses a web based application that has several drop down menus throughout software. Some people select the drop down and have 11 choices and others can see up to 30. If I login to the computer I am using now as the lady who works here I get 11 choices...if I login using a someone else I get 30 choices in the drop down menus.

Where is the configuration for this???

Hi

Are you serious ? Do you think anyone can guess where is the configuration on a web application ?

And that is a normal thing. Not all users have permission to all functionalities, so the menu does not show the commands the user can not access anyway.

By the way, this is not related to this forum's topic, "Browser issues for IT professionals".

Feherke.

Hi,

Sorry Feherke, we are not all as smart as you.

"Are you serious ?" - Do you think I would waste my time posting this if I were not serious?

"By the way, this is not related to this forum's topic, "Browser issues for IT professionals". " - Login as John to computer A I see the complete drop down menu when using internet explorer BROWSER, login same computer as Susan (both administrators) I see 11 choices in the same drop down menu in internet explorer BROWSER.

I am not a web designer so if the answer is the way the code is written that answer would suffice instead of the sarcasm.

Hi

No sarcasm were intended. Neither smartness.

You have access to two pages displayed in two browsers, which looks abit different. Right click on the pages then click on the View Source command then visually compare the sources or just search the sources for the missing command. You do not have to be web designer to perform a text search and find the difference.

Feherke.

Both pages are the same. When they login to their software, the first page has a drop down menu. One person clicks the drop down and gets 11 choices and a slider bar on the side to scroll down and the computer next to her clicks the drop down menu and gets 30 choices...no slider bar...all choices are there to select.

Can I change something in Windows or IE to have it show all options when clicking on a drop down menu?

It does not seem to be an application problem because it is differnet on different computers and different logins.

just a thought but you might want to look at the personal settings for each user to see if the have different resolutions (screen sizes) or large vs small fonts.

Ok I figured it out...

If you have XP set to Windows Classic Style (display properties, appearance) you have 11 choices in a drop down menu, if you set to XP style you have up to 30 choices in a drop down menu.

Thanks for the help
