Hello,

I need some guidance. I have already created my table and imported several thousand records into the table. In hindsight I realize I needed to add a date field - to track when the records were added to the database. Is there a way I can add a date field that can a pull a system generated date created or modified info.

CustNum|FirstName|LastName|DateAddedtoDatabase
1000 John Smith 01/04/2009
1000 Jay Smith 01/06/2009
1000 Jill Smith 01/07/2009

Any help is greatly appreciated?
Thank you
Cheers!

Did you set the DefaultValue property of DateAddedtoDatabase to Date() ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I placed Date() in the default value property , saved the table and then view it.
This is what I got in the record Date(). It just displayed what I wrote in the default value property field. What did I do wrong? Cheers

Is DateAddedtoDatabase a date/time field? If not, change it so that it is.

If you want to update this field to the date a record is last modified, you will need to do this in the Before Update event of a form.
