I am using the KORN shell and am using awk experimentally.i have a couple of problems i can't resolve(i am getting better tho).using dos prompt i can recall my prior commands
without having to key again.(F8 + up or down arrow).
i can't seem to do this with a dos/looking KSH.also, when i try to do something and the screen is awaiting input,i can not break out;if i get > i can use ctrl+break and quit appears and i am out.any help would be appreciated.to all who have helped before thank you(do not know if i thanked all).

Try to start ksh with the -o vi option.
Then you can recall the history lines with Esc k or even do a search with Esc / text.
To break out you can try Ctrl-C.

Hope This Helps, PH.
