I have a text box and set the control source to: =[investigationdone]-[nacsubmitted] (These are both date fields). I have named this box AvgDays.

This works fine.

Now I need to know the average of the AvgDays. I used another text box and put =Avg([AvgDays])as the control source. When I try to run the report, I get a box asking me to enter the parameters for AvgDays.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You might try something like this in the Control Source for your textbox.
=(Sum([investigationdone]-[nacsubmitted])/Count(*))

Depending on how your data is set up in the report, that might do it.

Thank you Paul..I ended up putting the calculation right in the query...then my expression worked. I will have to try it that way too..who knows, might learn something new :) Ellie
