Want to do a directory index using Javascript. I have the default autoindex with Apache, but would like to enhance the page (background, etc.) which isn't possible with Apache mod_autoindex. Is there a simple way to list the contents of a web directory of documents and provide links so that you can access each document?

Please help,
Leslie :)

Use PHP for this. You can pick up PHP and some good information at

Basically PHP is Apache's version of IIS/ASP. It will allow you to use Perl, Python and probably Javascript to do any file/database manipulation you want.
