I have an old computer that has Win 98 and no network card. It has a modem, that was used to connect to a dial up AOL account. We now have a new PC with Vista and would like to transfer files and pics from the Win 98 box to the Vista box. I attempted to put the Win 98 harddrive in an enclosure and attach it to the Vista box with a USB connection. The Vista box didn't recognize the harddrive. I can't upload files to the internet now because we have a cable modem and AOL recognizes the high speed connection and ot the dial up. Anyone have any ideas on how I can transfer the files?

Look at Vista's migration tool, "transfer files & settings" or the like. You can use a USB drive to export from 98 and import to Vista, I believe. You also might have better luck in this forum:

Best of luck.
