My company recently inherited a storageTek L180. I'm trying to get my HP DL380 G4 server (running win2k3) to recognize the L180, but it only recognizes the Library itself- not the 4 sequential devices. This is what I see under Device Manager....

Medium Changers
StorageTek Tape Library L180

But then I see unrecognized with no drivers installed...
Other Devices
IBM Ultrium-TD2 SCSI Sequential Device
IBM Ultrium-TD2 SCSI Sequential Device
IBM Ultrium-TD2 SCSI Sequential Device
IBM Ultrium-TD2 SCSI Sequential Device

I looked at the LCD on the L180 for each drive and it has vendor name (IBM), Type(LTO2), Status(Empty), serials #s for each drive, Interface Type (SCSI I/F), Code Version (53Y2), and SCSI IDs recognized for the 4 drives (0-4).

Version Info STKL180
Code Version 3.10.00
Build Date Sept 12,2005

I'll be using Legato Networker 7.2 as the backup client.

Any thoughts would be extemely helpful as I have been racking my brain for a few days now.

Thanks,
-Mike

Windows drivers for IBM LTO's are provided by IBM, and can be found here:

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr

Not sure about Legato, but some backup applications use their own drivers for the tape drives.
