I assume you're asking this because you're trying to get a printer to work with a Mac, if this is the case:

These HP Printers support Mac QuickDraw & hence MacOS:
HP DeskJet 350cbi (w/ optional Mac Adapter)
HP DeskJet 845c
HP DeskJet 920c
HP DeskJet 940c
HP DeskJet 960cxi
HP DeskJet 990cxi
HP DeskJet 995c
HP DeskJet 1220cxi
HP DeskJet 1220c/ps

If you're looking for a PostScript Printer for Unix support then these HP inkjets specifically support PostScript:

HP DeskJet 1220c/ps
HP Business InkJet cp1700ps
HP Business InkJet 2230
HP Business InkJet 2280
HP Business InkJet 2280tn
HP Business InkJet 2600
HP Business InkJet 2600DN

Obviously, all will work with MacOS as both QuickDraw (OS 8.1 up) and PostScript (All MacOS) work on Mac.

Not in the HP line, you'll have to go to a competitor unfortunately. And I've got no advice on who might offer one with PostScript.

Does AIX 4.3.3 support the HP Business inkjet 2280 Post script? I cannot find anything on thier website about it. Nor can I find any drivers. James Collins

Yes, it is supported according to my reseller guide (AIX 3.2.5 and later). The 2280 has supports PostScript Level 3 and below.

Do I need to so anything to setup drivers for it? How would I go about setting it up in AIX? I am not exactly an AIX god (more like a mere mortal). I am familiar with smit and have set up a couple of printers. James Collins

I have no idea on that one sorry. I would assume you just setup a standard postscript printer. Beyond that and a "yes, hp says it's supported" I have nothing to offer in the way of guidance.

Sorry =( Joe Miller

You think using the standerd PS printer would work fine? I was origionally going with that. I jsut wanted a few extra opinions to be sure. James Collins

By definition a standard postscript printer will work fine. What you'd be missing would be all the whizbang stuff (ie: n-up, scaling, watermarks, etc...) that HP builds into their custom PS drivers. But for basic output a standard PS driver will work.

I think it will be fine. Our softeware does print checks. However with other Laser printers we use the Standard PS driver with them. I just wanted to know if it would work with inkjet pritners as well. James Collins
