All,
I'm on HP-UX 11.0 and i'm trying to find the processer type and is it PA-RISC 2 or 1? Any ideas how i can do that?

thx.

The processor type on the more recent HP-UX hardware will probably be a RISC PA8400, RISK PA8500 or RISK PA8600. What type or HW (model) do you have?

Hi

Run up SAM, go to Performance Monitors then System Properties, click on processors, and this will have the info that you asked about.

Hi

Thanks to JRF.
1. 'model' will return the processor name;

2. Match the output from 'uname -m' with /usr/sam/lib/mo/sched.models to find the PA-RISC version of your processor. /usr/sam/lib/mo/sched.models will be as current as your SAM patches.

3. 'getconf KERNEL_BITS' will return whether you are running 32- or 64-bit.

4. 'getconf HW_32_64_CAPABLE' will show whether your processor is 64-bit capable or not.

5. To find the processor speed (MHz):

# echo itick_per_usec/D | adb -k stand/vmunix /dev/mem
