Need advice on old Meridian Mail

I have a customer who has an Option 51 that has not been touced in years as far as upgrades. They are on X11 Rls. 19.6 and Rls 12 Meridian Mail. Their original vendor who is also a LEC never upgraded them when they had the chance. The last vendor never performed backups on the mail. Two weeks agao the mail went down and never came back. I have repaced the QPC513, MMP40 card, HABC, Hard Drive and Tape Drive. Original codes showed unable to see SCSI Drive 0, replaced hard drive and placed install tape in to reinstall system. Found out tape drive was bad after it damaged part of the tape. Install tape see MMOS header and brings up prompt to install, upgrade or other utilities, but will not load. Can not use another sites old tape as Serial number has to match. Can not change Serial number without key code. Customer will only have system one more year, then will go to VOIP. Is there anyone or anyplace that could help with a temp fix. If not, customer is looking for a cheap alternative. They have T-1 capablities but, not PRI.

Should be able to use any release 12 tape for install but you have to use the customer keycode. If you cant use another release 12 install tape then you have other problem.

Telecom has not been a priority for this customer obviously, as R19 has been Manufacture Discontinued for many years, with no Nortel support for years also. It's not the vendor's responsibility to make sure a customer stays up to date.

They have been skating on thin ice for years with this system, if you cannot find another tape drive, and install tape, then they are SOL and will have to spend some money now.
