I have an existing database of prices of construction materials from various vendors which is updated regularly.
(Designed and installed by me)

I get a lot of interest in one particular item, a small portable cabin/efficiency. With the economy slow now, I want to get quick estimates on a current price for this, with minor adjustments of preferences. I get many people from out of my area who want this and I am now looking to travel and build on-site. I can easily get the database to update for local chain vendors in those areas.

My first thought is that something object-oriented might be best, since a cabin is made up of so many little "objects" like walls, floors, ceilings, drains, plugs, etc., but overall a pretty complicated thing.

My OO experience is a bit weak, but I am willing to practice!

I have not done something like this before and would appreciate any hints/tips for this project. Performance is a non-issue, of course.
Thanks
