Need advice: Line 8 to prime 4

Hello guys! I need some advice here.
My reception phone always ring once and display "Line 8 to prime" when our main fax ring. The reception phone ext.221 is assigned line 157.
Maybe somehow the fax line connected to line 8 as backup line?
I did some test and when Night mode is enabled, the call to fax line will answered by Auto Attendant also ring to fax machine.

This is an indicator that line 8 is not being answered and is reverting to the prime set. Check how line 8 is programed.

Is the fax number on your PRI, or is it an analog line?

If it's on the PRI, you'll have to figure out which target number it is, then, as njphones said, make sure the Prime set is programmed to the fax extension.

If it's an analog line named "Line 8", then find it on the CO block, and remove the jumper to the system to dedicate it.

How do I change PrimeSet to none only for Line 8?

You'll need to determine the receive digits for the fax number, and build a target line accordingly.

"Line 8" is the PRI channel. You're right, you don't want to mess with that one's programming.

The fax line actually analog line but I'm not sure why it goes to phone system as line 8. maybe as backup line?
I will check the CO block.

hmm. I guess there is something in the system named Line 8.
I checked the system programming and found out Line008 is PRI channel not Line 8. Anybody can give me a hint where to look for entry named Line 8?

Assuming you have R6 or higher I'd start with line 031 and work forward. Line 8 would probably be line 064 if my guess is right. If you have 2 PRI's then it might be line 072. Just check the name given to each line until you (hopefully) find what you're looking for.

I agree with ex but you say when testing night mode AA answers, if you have look at line 064 and still not right:
Go into Service Modes/Night/Show/Lines/and see note what lines are assigned....then go back to Config/lines and look at the names, this will save you looking at every single lines names.

Thanks Brian. It's Line034. I changed PrimeSet setting to None and it works. I hope nothing else is effected with the changes.
