Hi,

I'm looking for a webmaster who knows and has had experience displaying Japanese characters on a website. My client has a Japanese translator, and is translating a site into Japanese, but I need to know how to display the characters. I use Notepad as my html editor. I have seen some sites in Japanese, that make me download an extra for MSIE in order to view the characters properly. I need to know how to make this prompt appear on people's browsers who don't have Japanese extension installed.

Also, when I have viewed a Website with either, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc. I have looked at the source code, and it is just a mess of characters.

Can someone with experience please advise me on how to go about doing this. [deejay]

Here is an example of what I want to accomplish:

I want users to be able to highlight the characters, and copy paste them into any other program that support Japanese charcters.

Thanks [deejay]

I know it is the browser that prompt. but how do I type the Japanese inot notepad, and then get it to be viewed properly in MSIE?

Do I just use the Japanese program to type out the character, and then copy paste it into Notepad? [deejay]

Hi mate,

Just to quote your previous post.

I need to know how to make this prompt appear on people's browsers who don't have Japanese extension installed.

Why ask if you already knew?

You can download all of these language components by going to windows update.

I may be wrong but it is most likely the keyboard settings for your computer. Control Panel > Keyboard.

Hope this helps

Sorry what I meant by: I need to know how to make this prompt appear on people's browsers who don't have Japanese extension installed. is:

I thought that there was an extra line of code that I had to input somewhere, to let other peoples web browser's know that there is Japanese on the site before the site started to load, making sure that their browser's knew. I should have been more specific.

So my other question remains:
Do I just use the Japanese program to type out the character, and then copy paste it into Notepad?

Thanks alot [deejay]
