How can I search Outlook Express messages (content/Subject line) for particular keywords. I know some Web mail sites provide this feature. But how can I perform the function in OE?

There must be some third party program out there that does this!

I'd be grateful if I can be pointed in the right direction.

Thanks.

What version of OE are you using?
In 6,( I havent checked the other versions yet) under the EDIT menu you can search under the FIND command , click message if you have that option. Depends what view you are in.

It gives you a check box to search all of the text in the message..and then a FIND NEXT command to look up the same thing over again in another message. eg: Find a city in each message, or a sender.

If you click on OUTLOOK EXPRESS at the top of your folders menu on the left hand pane, you get the best options. You can search the from, to, subject and message fields.

Post again if you are still stuck, or if you need more specifics.

Let us know how you get on.

Kimber There is no such thing as a dumb question. Only a dumb mistake because you didn't ask...

I use the edit and find option, does it not work for you?

Thanks guys. I guess I just never took the time to explore that find feature. I should be ok now.

But still, does anyone know of any third party program that does the same thing. I'm interested in finding the most versatile solution that I can.

Thanks again.

Are you saving these mails to the hard drive?
Perhaps if I know what you need to do more specifically...and to what purpose, I can recommend something.
I have found several file managers that generally do what you are asking, although not specifically for OE.
The more I learn, the more I realize how much more there is to know!
