Hi All,

Just can't seem to get my mind around this, here's the situation.

I have a transaction table linked to an exchange rate table joined by date. When the report is refreshed the user is prompted for a "Period End Date" which is displayed in the page header. I need a way to get the exhange rate for the period end date into the detail section so I can convert my line items from one currency to the other. I've tried just about everything I can think of.

I realize I can just propmt for the rate and put that in the detail section and carry on, BUT, not all users are aware of what the rate should be. So, I want the report to look it up.

Any comments, ideas, magical solutions are welcome !

Thx

How about creating a couple numbervar arrays to carry the dates and the associated values, then writing a loop to find tha matching date and retrieve the associated exchange rate? Software Support for Sage Mas90, Macola, Crystal Reports, Goldmine and MS Office

Hi dgillz,

Thanks for the response. Although I have not experimented with arrays much, your suggestion interests me, (like a sponge ya know..).

Unfortunately, now is not a good time, more pressing matters on the go right now.

I will reactivate this post when "they unchain me from my desk"!!!

Later....
