I keep running into IP address conflict. We assigned static IP's to each piece of equipment on the network but somehow they get dropped. Does anyone have a utility that can track all the used IP addresses on a network?
Is there the option of creating a DHCP scope and automating the process? You may have a good reason for doing this. Let the server do the work for you so you can worry and focus on the more important problems.
I have just moved from a WINS NT4.0 domain to a Win2k Dynamic DNS (using DHCP) and have to say, i am very happy.
I use to have an excel spread sheet with all the different subnets. It was a nightmare, but necessary to avoid your problem.
