I am fairly new to B-C++-Bldr and i am looking for a place that can provide a manual-type of documentation. I bought a book but it turns out it is for high end users.

I also visited the borland site and all i could find are articles and code.

I am sure there are palces on the net that provide documentation on classes and its methods and attributes but i cannot find it.

I tried to print the help menu but it was printing 1 on-line page per printer page and that was not effecient.

what i am looking for is a list of the classes, its properties, and an explanation of what each does.

sorry for the lengthy explanation.
thanks in advance

If You look in the FAQ section, way down You will see a link to usefull BCB-sites, on those there are an abundancy of information. The URL is if You won't go through the FAQ.

A good book i am using is the "Teach Yourself BCB in 14 days"...or is it 21 days????

Along with other C++-books You can go a far way. Totte

Hi quan,

With the purchase of C++Builder you should've gotten a few printed manuals though I'm not sure if the standard edition comes with this, and yes Totte one of them is "Teach Yourself BCB in 14 days" and you also get C++Builder hierarchy chart and a few extra manuals. You can buy the teach yourself in 21 days edition on Amazon.com or Bn.com

You can get a pdf version of some of the material from Borland's site. You must register first to access certian docs.

You can get the BCB6VCLposter.pdf
ftp://ftpd.borland.com/techpubs/cbuilder/cb6/BCB6VCLposter.pdf

Some highly recommeded links for newbies ;)

I had a hard time at first until I discovered what event handlers are. BCB is for the most part just programming the events.. ie, what happens when I click on the button that I have just dropped onto the form. This is the event.
This is so easy even I can produce useful software. You dont have to mess with creating visuals to much. You can spend your time on the logic, were most of the work is anyway. most of the information you need is in the help files. Trust me. for a button look up TButton and wala,
all the answers are before you. And dont forget tek-tips. any confusion will be remedied quickly.
