Looking for a good beginner tutorial in Adobe After Effects. Something like a "for Dummies" type.

You know, I started reading the Users Guide until I felt the itch to try and build a small composition. Then I started building small (5-second) compositions. Nothing fancy, just simple animation, etc. It's been helpful! So far, I've built about a dozen small compositions, just to try different things out. Each one is a little better, a little more complicated, and for each one, I've grown more confident in working with AE.

Last night, I learned how to use the Wiggler. Which sounds obscene, doesn't it? [lol]

I also read forums such as this to see what other people are saying and doing to solve their problems.

Good luck!

hi there,
the simplest solution is to visit adobe.com and view tutorials there and read the ae5.5 help file
