Hi there
I’m looking for a formula that will display a unique identifier number for each record on my report. When I run the report again, I would like the number to start off sequentially from the last report. If there is away to place the letter B infront of the generated number.

I’m stumped on one minor issue.

So the First record would be B176889 the next B176890, B176891, B176892 ect...
I have been exporting to report to excel, then I use the auto-fill function. I would like to eliminate this step.

Is there a way to do this in the formula section???

Hi,
You can design a formula to increment for each record returned, but the next report would have no way of knowing what number was last used.

If you can add to the database, there are ways of creating a sequence ( database dependant) that can be added to your reports data table(s).

You can also use an Excel file as a 'table'. If you can't change the database that would be a work-round.
