I'm looking to find some equipment in order to build a lab to study for my CCENT and CCNA. Can anyone recommend some Cisco models that I could find on the cheap used? I'm looking for a pair or routers and a switch. I've tried the router sims and they are not the same.

Check out Ebay.Get at least the 1721 or a 2610 router.For the switch nothing under a 2950.

Regards

Thanks Minue!

I have a Catalyst 2950 LRE in my office I know real well and a couple Aironet 1250 AP. But that is my limited experience with the Cisco product line. Thanks for the tip.

dschartung,

I would spend a moment reading Wendell Odom's (Cisco author and CCIE) 9 part story about setting up a home CCNA lab at Networkworld -

This will help you with exactly what you want and why!!!

In addition to eBay you should check
They are in Atlanta and have prices very close to the "buy it now" price at eBay. They also have a 90 day warranty and right now they have "free shipping" for orders over $25. Several of us here at Tek Tips have bought Cisco 3640 routers there but they have almost all the different Cisco routers and switches.

Hope this helps!!
