Hi,

wms_vg2 volume group LV information is showing this :-

lsvg -l wms_vg2

wms_vg2:
LV NAME TYPE LPs PPs PVs LV STATE MOUNT POINT
wmsora6_lv jfs 1021 2042 4 open/syncd /WMS/ora6
wmsora7_lv jfs 1020 2040 4 open/syncd /WMS/ora7
loglv02 jfslog 1 2 2 open/syncd N/A
backupnew_lv jfs2 3020 6040 12 open/syncd /backup
loglv03 jfs2log 1 1 1 open/syncd N/A

If I do lslv -m backupnew_lv --> For one disk I found this. Is that ok ?

LP PP1 PV1 PP2 PV2 PP3 PV3
2675 0503 hdisk38 0503 hdisk6
2676 0504 hdisk38 0504 hdisk6
2677 0505 hdisk38 0505 hdisk6
2678 0506 hdisk38 0506 hdisk6
2679 0507 hdisk38 0507 hdisk6
2680 0508 hdisk38 0509 hdisk6
2681 0509 hdisk38 0510 hdisk6
2682 0510 hdisk38 0511 hdisk6
2683 0511 hdisk38 0512 hdisk6

If you look at the line "2680", The PP1 value (0508) is not matching with PP2 value (0509) and it continued for next all cases. Is that ok ? Or my mirror LV is not in good shape?

I can see the loglv03 is not mirrored, which I will create on one more disk which are in same group.

lslv -m loglv03

loglv03:N/A
LP PP1 PV1 PP2 PV2 PP3 PV3
0001 0110 hdisk11

Please confirm. And want to know why this number got changed?

Thanks.

The exact location of the two mirrors is not really your worry. As long as both mirrors of each LP are on different disks, you are fine.

BUT... the jfs2log volume is NOT YET mirrored!

backupnew_lv jfs2 3020 6040 12 open/syncd /backup [green]OK[/green]
loglv03 jfs2log 1 1 1 open/syncd N/A [red]NOK[/red]

run
mklvcopy loglv03 2
syncvg -l loglv03

to get that in order.

Thanks a lot p5wizard,

I was thinking I am right but was loosing my confidence since the server is production server. I appreciate your quick response.

I just made a lv copy of that LV loglv03 and it's fine.

at present the output is showing :-

lsvg -l wms_vg2
wms_vg2:
LV NAME TYPE LPs PPs PVs LV STATE MOUNT POINT
wmsora6_lv jfs 1021 2042 4 open/syncd /WMS/ora6
wmsora7_lv jfs 1020 2040 4 open/syncd /WMS/ora7
loglv02 jfslog 1 2 2 open/syncd N/A
backupnew_lv jfs2 3020 6040 12 open/syncd /backup
loglv03 jfs2log 1 2 2 open/syncd N/A

so all set ..

Thanks.

Sam

Here's a handy way to make sure both mirrors are on separate disks:

Code:
lslv -m backupnew_lv |\
 awk '{print $3, $5}' |\
 sort -u
