my T1 is set to NEDC-ORG and FEDC-ORG. So if the originator doesn't hang up there's the possibility the call just hangs there, right? should I change it to ETH for each option?

Set them up for ETH, I don't know why one would want to specify that only the originator or terminating party would control disconnect supervision. I have had them as ORG and this has caused problems, LD calls remaining up for thousands of minutes, not good, especially if the call is tandeming through your switch.
