Nec Versa 6230 laptop..no memory, no boot???

I have a Nec Versa 6230 laptop, someone removed all the memory modules. It has no memory and it turns on with green light, but no video for bios screen. Is that common? Does it need memory to boot to bios screen?

In a word YES.
Install some RAM, your are going to need it to be able to use the machine anyway.
