I have a customer that would like to set up multiple distinctive ring patterns for multiple virtual extensions assigned on MLTs.

I was advised by our VAR that NEC has had an issue with this feature working consistently on the Aspire, IPKII, and SL / SV series systems.

It was stated that this feature will work for awhile but can stop for no apparant reason.

Has anyone set this up successfully without any issues?

Thank you for your input.

Never heard of that. Use it all the time on hundreds of systems.

I am trying to assign 8 VE's, each with a different ring pattern.

Looks like you can only assign 4 different tones for VE's in 15-08 according to the programming manual.

I tried to assign 8 different tones for 8 VEs and only the first four tones assigned would work.

Has anybody successfully assigned more than 4 tones or is that just not possible?

Thank you for your input.

The phones are primarily MLTs, but they have some IPs as well.

I set up a test ip phone in my office with eight VEs assigned to ring on it.

I could only assign tones 1-4 in 15-08 that would ring on the phone.

VEs assigned to tones 5-8 would not ring.

I am pretty sure you can ring a pre-recorded ring on the IP phones if memory serves.
