Hey Guys,

We have a customer who had migrated from SV8100 to SV9100, and ever since the migration the system will randomly reboot.

This situation has now been going on about 12 months, it is random reboots, cant seem to find any reason for it at all. Have raised faults with NEC, they are sending the DIM Traces etc off to Japan for investigation, but it is like pulling teeth getting information out of them.

We have replaced the 8100 Chassis with 9100 Chassis
We have changed the CP10 with a different CP10, and then a CP20
We have replaced the BS10, and now put in a BS20 for the multi chassis
We have defaulted the system a number of times

SO we have 2 chassis, 30 Channels Telstra SIP Connect through a SBC, 75 Extensions (MLT, IP, and 3rd Party SIP Extensions), ACD with an ACD MIS server, and a whole lot of Fun.

The system is VLANd to its own voice VLAN combining the PBX, Telstra SBC, and WiFi Devices for 3rd Party SIP extensions (mobile apps)

NEC has advised a number of times it is a rogue packet, but their 'fixes' for this issue are not bringing a resolution. Running latest firmware until NEC Advised we should run their debug firmware.

Any suggestions or assistance anyone can impart would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance.

I had a customer, actually 2 of them with the SL2100 doing the same thing. We defaulted them disconnected the system and left it off for a weekend. Reprogrammed it from scratch (loading a back up did not help), and the problem was gone. We also replaced everything, loading back ups and reprogramming did not help either. Somehow a long power down cleared the corruption.

Another thought. If you are using Cisco switches look and see if they are using ARP inspection. This is something that Cisco does that seems to cause issues on a ton of stuff.

@belvedere - My friend would comment that we need to let the bad electrons drain out of the equipment for your particular scenario. Strange...

meyer1y2k, I could not explain it and neither could NTAC, but it worked.

What software are you using. Had this exact problem. Upgraded the software.
V10.50.52 -10.5 release to resolve the following issue and support BCT 11
feature codes.
a) F200206003 – System Resetting intermittently with Fax calls on SIP trunks.

I can also verify Cisco switches that have "ARP Probing" enabled does wacky things. Had constant IP Collision alarms until the IT company disabled it and no alarms since. Hope that helps...

Ok so first question would be, why the SBC on Telstra SIP Connect as that is provisioned over the Telstra MPLS network and doesn't need the SBC to be secure! Have you run the SIP scripts? Is it the system or the SIP that is resetting?
