Good morning. I have a customer who's extension message light remains lit. We have deleted all messages, deleted and created new voice mail without luck
We are using PC Pro and UM8000, this is the only extension affected, I have compared it to other extensions and can't see any difference. I have also swapped telephones, any ideas?

In CMD 200 look for A146 (200>XX>A146) you may need to set it up then with what XX is get dial tone on the phone an dial XX3, that should turn the light off.

Basically the message waiting lamp was not turned on by the UM8000. It was done by one of the other older features I normally turn off because they cause this issue. User A calls User B and turns on call back request. This turns on the lamp and it normally is extinguished by the method that turn it on.

If they turned on call back as soon as user B calls User A the lamp goes off.

There are also a couple other old school methods to light someones message waiting lamp. You can use Message Search to clear all of the lamps on your extension.

Once you figure out how the lamp was turned on disable the feature. They don't get used anymore.
