Hello My Fellow Phone Techs,
I have an issue with the Mitel 3300 being able to call (Extension to Extension) the NEC SV8100. Currently I have it configured and running via SIP trunks. The NEC SV8100 can call the Mitel 3300 with no issues but the Mitel 3300 cannot call the NEC SV8100. I'm thinking it's a configuration issue on the NEC SV8100 end but I cant seem to pin point what I may be missing. I have a .pcap of this, which does show the NEC SV8100 calling the Mitel 3300 and I pick up and have two way audio. But then it shows the Mitel 3300 trying to call the NEC SV8100 and the NEC SV8100 gives out a 486 SIP message of "Busy Here". According to the NEC guide on SIP it says:

Any info on this would be appreciated. The .pcap I spoke of is also attached.

Thanks,
-Iron

**UPDATE**
Just messing with my settings on the NEC SV8100 in 10-29-14 (SIP Carrier Choice) Which was on "Default" but I changed it to "Carrier A" and my SIP Capture shows a 404 Not Found. I change back to Default and it no longer shows the 486 Busy message anymore, but showed the 404 not found. I have changed to "Carrier D" and that brought it back to the 486 Busy.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know what the various "Carrier Choices" mean?

Thanks,
-Iron

It may not be a SIP issue. Do you have CAP keys assigned under the line keys on the phones?

belevedere,
Indeed I do, four of them to be exact! (See Below) The reason they are all labeled as "CAP130" is due to character limitations, they are programmed as: 1301, 1302, 1303, 1304.

I should also mention that I'm testing this via NEC's SIP softphone.

**UPDATE**
belevedere,
Found the issue! Upon examining the .pcap's some more I found that there was a "+" being inserted in the field that the NEC saw and wouldn't answer to (See Below).

In the Mitel 3300 we have a SIP trunk provider that requires a "+" to be inserted when attempting to make a call. I programmed my "SIP Peer Profile" (See Below) in the Mitel 3300 around it. Once removed, all tested good.
