I maintain the windows network for a small business. They have a NEC SV8100 system. When a person gets a voicemail, an email goes to their email notifying them. The email is for someone that left the company and they want me to change where that notification email goes (right now that old email address is forwarded to their replacement, but we are going to stop the forwarding).

I googled the web and came up with the ADMIN1 / 0000 and ADMIN2 / 9999 passwords. They get me into the box. But the 47-02 area isn't listed in the system data for either of those accounts.

There's also a TECH account, right? They lost touch with the installer firm and can't seem to ask them for help. Is there a way to get into the box to access the 47-02 settings? And even better, reset TECH's password and / or create an equivalent account?

thanks!

The only way to break passwords is to contact NEC as it is not allowed to discuss passwords on any site that I know of, this one included!

thanks. sorry, didn't mean to do anything wrong : )

Let me re-phrase:

I need to change the email address that notifications are sent to from the NEC box. I've used ADMIN1 and ADMIN2 and don't see anything about email addresses in there.

a) am I looking in the wrong place to change the email address?
b) if not accessible under those accounts, what account do I need to use to access the email settings on the NEC box?

There is a technician log in and password. If you can get your hands on a copy of the PCPro manual, it is listed there.

thanks. I did some googling and didn't realize there's that PCPro app. I was just going to the sv8100 via web interface.

found this doc:

Downloaded pcpro, Logged in with the tech user / password, but that gets me into the software (with default SV8100 IP address of 192.168.0.10) but that's not our box' IP address. Click the connect button, enter our IP address and default tech info and it says invalid. There's no button for 'forgot password' as described on page 2-10 of that pdf : ( I downloaded v6.01.

It sounds like your installer may have changed the technician password. The only way to recover it is to default the system which will also default the database. You need to try to get your installer to give you the password.

The installer is legally obliged to give you the password, it is your system and not his. If they won't give you the password or reset it to the password you request, take legal action, you can't lose!
