Hello,

At my company, we are using an older NEC NEAX 2000 IVS PBX system.

Our phones look like the image below.

Whenever an OUTSIDE line calls the direct number tied to station/extension 212, it rings at extension 432. I have attempted to do all of the cancel codes I can find (#1 through #9), and no luck. The calls still ring at the incorrect extension.

I have searched through the manuals and online and cannot seem to figure out why this phone will not ring when being dialed from the outside. Internal calls seem to work fine. I have tried swapping phones out thinking it may have been something with the phone, but the problem is still there.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

When the phone used to ring correctly, did it ring on the same key that lights up when you lift the handset? Often a virtual number is assigned to another key on the phone and the incoming rings to that so that the internal number stays free. If this is the case, it may be the extension number on the key in question that has the forward set on it. To clear the forward, lift the handset, press the key, dial the cancel code, hang up, repeat as necessary.

If you feel up to getting into programming mode, we can get more specific.

OzzieGeorge,

I can't believe I didn't think of it, but you answered my question when you asked if it used to ring on a different light for incoming calls than when I lifted the handset.

I went through each of the extension buttons and performed the cancel codes, which solved the problem. Didn't know I had to do each button individually. Thanks for the help! [thumbsup]
