Good Afternoon,

Looking for some direction with an NEC 2000 IPS that will not bootup and what are some ideas to assist in identifying the cause.

This is an NEC NEAX 2000 IPS with a main cabinet and a second cabinet. The original issue was the digital and analog phones were not working in the second cabinet, the devices on the Main cabinet were all functioning properly. We replaced the power supply on the second cabinet and after powering the system back on, the system will not bootup at all. The power supplies in both cabinets have power, the LED's on the VM card flash momentarily, but do not stay lit and no other cards have any lights on them. The phones do not display any information on them either. Have tried the new power supply in the main cabinet without the second cabinet connected and get the exact same results.

Any ideas or thoughts on what may be causing this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve Krei

Disconnect the second KSU, unplug all of the cards in the main KSU except the CPU and 1 station card. What do you get?
As for the PSU's you cannot go by LED's. You must use a volt meter and push the + probe into the back of the PSU connector pins one at a time, and the - proble on ground to get a true reading. You should get 27v and 5v.
If you cannot get 1 card up, swap it out with another one. If still NG, then the CPU may be bad.
Power down and reseat the CPU, try again.

Ok, I'll give that a try and see what happens.

Thank you, for your assistance!!
