Hello all. We recently acquired a company running an NEC 2400 PBX with a mix of traditional and IP phones. Our company standard is Cisco, so we'll be migrating them over. However, before I can start deploying the Cisco phones, I need to make sure I can run them on the same network as the NEC phones at the same time. With Cisco, once they are connected and boot up, they access the voice vLAN, perform a DHCP request for an IP, and based on the DHCP Option 150, will register to the appropriate CallManager server. I need to know how this compares to NEC. Does it use DHCP Option 150 to get it's registration info or does it get it from somewhere else (or is it simply manually entered into the phone)?
Any info into the basic boot up and registration process of an NEC IP phone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
