I am still having issues with this old NEC p.o.s.
1. I have a 4 line rollover with line 3 being dedicated to a certain department. I have turned on the AA for this line only but I cannot get a ring delay on it. The AA grabs every call immediately. I have tried every solution on this website and every program I can find in the manual that involves this timing. I cannot seem to change it. Any ideas?
2. After the AA picks up and the caller chooses the extension, the user picks up, says hello hears dead silence, then a beep and then the caller can hear him speak, but only after a beep he hears. So neither party can be heard for about 3 seconds, this beep, and then the call can be completed. This just started randomly a few days ago. This is the only user that is utilizing the AA, so no other users to compare with.

Did you check the VM to make sure the transfer is set to Release and not Screen or Monitor(something like that, its been awhile since I worked on an elite mail). It sounds like the VM is holding the call until it knows the call has been answered.

NEC is not my specialty, that's for sure! But I have the manuals and am working my way through most issues. Stuck on this one though. Sounds like you are addressing the delay problem. Any idea where to look for those options?
Thanks.

Typically those voice mails were defaulted to await answer. They need to be set to release transfer unless you are using some of the notify options. This is done on a per mail box case. Usually we set it to release in the template before building the mail boxes. You need to check each mail box and set them to release transfer. Await transfer holds up the port until answered and can delay the transfer.

Wierd thing is though, that it didn't used to do that, just started recently. This is good to know. Is this setting something I can change in the voice mail admin on the telset?
Thank you, this helps!

No, it has to be done once you get logged into the VM. Cosessions is probably needed to connect.

I was able to fix the first problem but that second one is still a problem. You are correct, the user cannot progress with the call until he makes a sound.
I am hoping for another idea on this problem. I do not yet have that software, new customer. And once again, I was never in the software to change the feature to make it hold/monitor the call, so I don't know how it randomly started doing it.
