I have a customer that we just installed this system for and they have a remote building that is to far for the digital phones to operate. I did find in their manual that with an AC adapter you can go up to 2000 feet but they do not show how to hook it up. They do show other uses for this AC adapter with modules you install on your phone for CTI, analog port adapters, etc but no mention what to use for the long distance situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

have you actually tried to hook up the phone at that distance. If you can get a piece of cat 5 it will probably work. I have hooked up a DTU phone on a 192 about that far away and it worked fine with a couple of splices in the cable.

On a Nortel Nortar Telephone you add a 24 volt power supply to the second pair of the jack and it will boost the signal.....must work same way on NEC perhaps?

What is the "max distance" for an extension per the specs? I have a customer who wants e to move thier office about 1800 feet from the switch and I'm concerned about it not working after the move. Is it possible to extend this distance at all if I sinstall new cable with a thicker guage?
