Hello;

I have just upgraded the system, an NEC Elite IPK, and installed a COIB4 and an ESIB8 to install a ninth phone line and four more handsets. this is the first time I've worked on this system and I'm having some trouble programming and understanding the manual. After some trouble I was able to get the new cards handsets working but now all the phones are ringing on incoming calls when before only a certain group would ring. Also the voicemail button has stop working on the handsets and when someone gets voicemail the number 203 shows on display and user must dial 203 to get access to voice mail.
Can someone show me where I went wrong and how to fix this?

Thanks for the help!

Mark

Well... to understand the manual....

In programming mode, things are done in "Memory Blocks".

You got the extensions programmed, that's good.

Ringing (day mode) is in memory block 4-01... in other words, in programming, press Line Key 4, then option 10. Go to the PORT that you want to change (i.e. port 09) corresponding to the phone that you want to change by pressing Conference, or using the * as backspace and # as forward, move the cursor to the 01 (current port) and change it to 09, so the display says 09/01. The line keys lit up GREEN indicate which CO LINES or PORTS will ring in DAY MODE. If they are RED, they will DELAY RING. If they are DARK, they will not ring.

Memory block 04-02 (Line key 04, option 02) would be ringing during Night mode..... same rules apply.

That's the basics of it anyway, off the top of my head. That should help you with the manual a little.

Just my 2¢
