Hello All,
I'm a Nortel/Samsung guy(please don't hate)
I'm trying to help a buddy at his office with a problem with their NEC Electra Elite 48. My guess is its a fairly older type system. I believe its probably a simple fix or maybe not..:

When outside call comes in and is live answered and transfered to ext 102, the set rings and then goes to vmail..perrrrfect.
When outside call comes in and hits auto attendant and the caller presses 102 it bounces directly into 102's mailbox without ringing her set.(they want it to ring ext first then go to vmail ext) I tried to play around on set level with removing DND and CF BUSY etc but still no luck. ANY THOUGHTS?
They also need a prompt changed on their vmail, the company they used prior has disappeared....i think to gain access to the vmail you need some type of cosessions software?? via db9 null cable.....not sure I want to tackle that....anyone service this stuff East of Toronto?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated....

OK...On the first issue (transfer) you will need to log into 102's mailbox and get to set up options. Remember 1 for yes and 2 for no. Once there you will then go to transfer or delivery options. The VM will ask would you like to change your transfer options press 1. It will most likly say transfer to your phone is off would you like to turn it on. Press 1 for yes and you should be set.

On the second issue could you explain more in detail what you mean by prompt? If you are referring to the day and/or night greeting let me know and I can help you with that.

ok great, I'll try that....
With regards to the second issue.
They want to modify a recording within the voicemail.
The caller hits auto attendant stating thank you for calling company A...
For company directory press 1
(When caller press 1)
It then lists for Pat press 101
Susie 102
Tom 103
ETC

The want to re=record this prompt because Tom is no longer with the company.
THANKS GREATLY FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.....
Cheers

The press 1 greeting might be a bit more of a challange since you said you don't have Co-Sessions. If you knew what the transaction box number the digit 1 goes to then we could change it with out using Co-Sessions. Now another option would be to just do away with the dailing of digit one. You could record the info in the main day and night greeting. I don't know how many extensions you have on the system so it might be a litle long. So for instance you could change the main greeting to:

Thank you for calling company A, if you know your parties extension dial it now or to reach Pat 101, Susie 102, Fred 103, etc. or remain on the line for an operator.

In order to change the main day and night greeting you would need to log into the VM as a system administrator.

Good Luck!

Would I still need to know the transaction box to make it inactive so that prompt wont play?

No just don't say to press 1 in your greeting. If someone did it would still play what's recorded though. Typically if you don't tell callers there is the option to dial 1 they won't.
