We had an employee leave our company. He also left without giving us his passcode for his vm. Is there any way to override his password without getting a technician to come out? Thanks for your help.
Notice: This will only work on NEC voicemail systems with the security code left at default.
The main point here is to get to the main greeting from any phone. You can do this from a phone that does not have a voicemail box, just dial the voicemail extension. You can also get to the main greeting by going into your personal mailbox and before entering your passcode (if you have one) dial *, 2, #.
At the main greeting dial 632, if it did not understand dial 632 again. This will get you into a mailbox named Amy Ronk, or something like that. Security code is again 632. It will begin telling you about new messages and other things. Press 2 for "NO" until you get a message that says "Would you like to access SYSTEM manager options?" Press 1 for yes.
Again say no to all other options until you get a message "Would you like to change a mailbox?" Press 1 (yes) for this option.
Then you will be prompted for "Enter the extenson number"
enter the extension.
Next you will get "This phone has an security code, would you like to delete it" press 1 for yes.
After that you will get a prompt for "Would you like to reset this mailbox to new?" Press 1 for yes
it is a good idea to setup another mailbox with system manager options and change the password on Amy Ronk's. if amy's gets deleted by accident its not a good thing.
Yes, setup two or three system admin's (need a laptop/Cosession for this option). One for your mailbox, another for the tech to use, like 199 or 299, etc. and one for the operator. If you do this will also allow you to change the main greeting remotely or switch to main alternate greeting for inclement weather late openings or natural disasters that may hinder normal business hours.
