I am working on an Elite 192 with Elite Mail VMS. The only certified NEC tech there was has left town and I am slogging through this. I have the manual but the issue I am having is that I could not get the voicemail to pick up the CO lines at all. Today I finally got the AA to pick up calls, but now it is picking up after 1 ring. I have the timer setting at 08seconds, but it is still grabbing all the calls immediately. It is also giving the after hours greeting all the time. I will go back and figure it out, but if someone could tell me which programs to use, it would help me spend a lot less time there. How do I tell the system which greeting to use??

Also, the VM extensions are 116 and 117. I noticed that there are 2 consecutive ports that are programmed as 116. What the ??? Is this supposed to be like this, I doubt it, so what issues will this cause?

Thank you.

Clean up MB 4-10. This system will not block you from double assigning extension numbers.
Log into the VM and verify the extensions and pilot numbers. In your example, the pilot is 116 and the members are 116-117 (once you clean up 4-10).
Check the mode of the VM, day/night/alternate.
Check the time and date in the VM, and any holidays.
I believe that the number of rings to answer is also set in the VM assuming you are using DIT/ANA settings for the VM/AA to answer.
Call forward no answer timing is for internal extension to extension calls. Once the DIT'd call gets to an extension, the timer takes over.

I followed all your advice. Thank you for that. Everything is working except for the AA Answer Delay issue. It is still picking up immediately and I need it to ring first.
In 4-42 the choices are: Immediate OR Delay. I have it set to Delay/yes
In 1-13 AA Answer Delay I have it set to 08seconds and it still grabs all the calls immediately.
What say you??

Check the port settings in the voice mail. There is usually a setting to extend the number of rings to answer there.

Port settings? I did go through all of the programs that relate to the set up of the vm. I didn't see anything with rings. Will look again though.

Still unable to find any other programs that will keep the AA from picking up immediately. Any other ideas? For now I just have a greeting that immediately gives them the extension of the main answering point, but really need to give the user a fighting chance to pick up a call before the AA grabs it.

set the following

3-42 Set to vm pilot
3-43 Set to vm pilot
3-61 Set to 0 for all trunks
4-01/02 Turn off all ringing

This will send your calls directly to the Opening box

Thanks, but I think you misunderstood. My problem IS that the calls are going directly to the Opening Box. I need a delay of 3 or 4 rings first.

All,

Thank you so much for your posts, I have learned a ton from here. I hope someone could help me get a copy of Cosession software for my IPK FMS voice mail, I need to change 1 digit mapping and I cant find my software anywhere.

Thanks for any help you can provide

Robert

I am still unable to get any delayed ringing on this. I want the phones to ring 4 times before the AA picks up. All calls are going directly to Opening Box. Any more ideas?
