Hey community! First post here - looking for information on this phone system if someone can help me, it'd be greatly appreciated.

In our work office, we're using the NEC Dterm 80 - DTH-16D-2 and I'm trying to change the default line number that the 9 key routes to. When we would push the 9 key, it automatically opens line 5 on speaker - which worked great for us, but now we do not have a 5th line on our phone system, and I wanted it to route to another line, (Line 4). I know its as easy as just pushing the line you want to dial out on instead, but we have an employee who prefers the 9 key to dial out (for whatever reason).

Anyone have any insight on this? Again, thanks so much for anyone that might have information on this!

Can you provide the system type? IPK, Electra Elite, etc. DTerm 80 is only the model of the phone used. Mostly on key systems. The programming can be different between systems.
You most likely have a key system. You need to assign the 5th trunk as "nil" or not installed. It will then be bypassed in a dial 9 operation.
Possibly MB 3-91.
