NEC DT700 Phone Setup In NEC Univerge SV8300

I am trying to setup a new DT700 phone in our Univerge SV8300.

I am having issues with assigning the extension number.

If I use an existing extension, but not one that is currently in use by a connected phone, I get an error message Unauthorized.

If I use a new extension I added to the SV8300 I get an error message Invalid LEN.

I used the same configuration as an existing phone as far as the SIP address, IP scheme, Subnet, etc.

Also, is there a way to just change the extension of a phone that is already setup?

I tried changing the extension in the web config of the phone, but it doesn't change anything.

IP phone extension numbers are done in CMD 1001. The extension cannot already be assigned elsewhere. You can change the extension number there as well, but the new number must be available (not already assigned).
