I am trying to figure out if there is a way to put a button (or soft key) on a supervisors ACD monitor phone, which will tell the voice recorder to start/stop recording. For example, the supervisor that is monitoring an ACD call, decides that they want to start recording the call, they can push a button on the DTerm, have the recorder see the button (or light status of the button). When the supervisor decides that they have recorded enough of the ACD call, they can then push the button again (or another button) to stop the recording.
Is this possible? I think I saw something like this in the 2000 series of phone switches, but I have not found this feature yet in my 2400 manuals.
Thank you.

I do not believe this is possible. A third party system is involved in recording calls.

We have the third party recorder, which works with digital NEC. The recorder can be set to start/stop recording by the status of a button. I.e., 'record when light 12 is green/red/flashing...'. I am trying to figure out how to make a button light up, turn off by selection. Hence, being able to have more control over the recording process.

NEC offers a Voice Security Recorder (VSR) unit. If the phone is a TDM phone, then this device can connect to it. From there it connects to a local PC where the record functions are controlled.
The VSR connects to the DTerm port, then the DTerm connects to the VSR. The VSR connects to a PC via a USB port. The included CD loads the function on the PC and the recordings will save to that PC.

I was trying to figure out if there was a way to make a button on a dterm light green on the first push, then extinguish on the second push. Sort of toggle on/off.

Headset key springs to mind!

I may be way off mark here but have you investigated what the zeacomm equipment can offer along these lines?
