hi

I have a site which requires us to add another pim to an existing 1u dm nec neax 2000ips, it currently has 48 tdm ports and the user would like to add more digital handsets.

do i need to add more licenses in ? its an nec system and from what i am told, i need a windows 98 laptop to add in more licenses. what is the procedure on adding in licences and also i need to add a dss console which ive not set up before. Also, the bus cable connecting the additional pim to the existing one, in which of the bus slots should they be connected on either pim?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am still new to this system but am finding it to be quite interesting!!

thanks

Q "i need a windows 98 laptop to add in more licenses."
A- false. You can use windows xp. You also need a MAT-T cable and a pc with a modem.

Q"what is the procedure on adding in licences"
A - you need to order the licenses from NEC.
"i need to add a dss console" - that uses a normal digital port.

Q "Also, the bus cable connecting the additional pim to the existing one, in which of the bus slots should they be connected on either pim"
A - Down load the manual - do a search on this site for links for manual downloads.
