Hello smart people...
I need help figuring out why my NEC NEAX 2000 IVS has decided to act ugly against me. I've been using MATWorx for the past several years to SWAP extensions around when an office user moves to another part of the building. So in MATworx I just use the swap function and tell it the two extensions to swap and then usually all I have to do is reprogram the voicemail function and all is well.
Recently I've run across this several times where the SWAP will quit with an exception message of "The swap could not be completed - data was lost" or something to that effect. Just yesterday I did a swap and had the message appear, only this time the complete LEN was lost in the system or unprogrammed. Don't read too much into what I am saying hear I don't know if I am making sense right now or not to you all...
Basically if I go into MATworx and try to call up one of the two extensions that were being swapped (using STATION ASSIGNMENT) there is one that all data has been lost for. MATworx will show "STATION [xxxx] is not assigned". If I use CAT mode and try to call certain data out about that extension is just tells me "DATA NOT FOUND".
So what I am trying to figure out is
1) How do I fix the extensions that worked but now have lost their data?
2) what causes this issue?
and 3) is SWAP function the best way to move extensions around?

Thank you in advance for any help provided!

To use the swap feature you must have complete control of both stations. If a call comes into one or if the user goes off hook during the swap you will lose data. I suggest that a LEN list be performed before using the swap feature. That way the data can be put back in using MOC mode. Also the swap phones have to be the same type and model.

If you can find out the LEN of the deleted station you can use copy to take data from a similar station to rebuild the lost one!

I know the LEN or at least I think I do.
I have a sheet that contains all my LENS but is a bit outdated I'm afraid. Is there a MOC or CAT command to see what a len is associated to? Then once I verify that the LEN I think is my deleted station I could start to rebuild from there knowing I wasn't overriding another station. What is the process for rebuilding OzzieGeorge. I haven't had to enter anything back into the system before.

In Moc mode command 10 de 000 de then step on using the enter key, when you get to 063 the next step will give an error, use the : (full colon) and then enter 100 and step on to 163 and so on for each pim (or if you know it is in Pim 1 just start at 100). You should see none for each unallocated len. The easiest way to reenter the data is to use the same feature as you would to swap the extensions but if you look at the menu you will see there is a copy option. pick an extension that is programmed the same as the one you lost and copy that to the len the missing one was on. I think you will find you can change the number of the station as you copy it!
