I have about 20 IP phones setup and recently I have experienced loud beeps when I try to complete a call. I can dial eight consecutive calls with no problem but then I get three fast beeps (not a fast busy signal) on the next one, sometimes it happens after the first or third call. If you don’t hang up the phone it will beep again after ten seconds and keep beeping.
The same problem is experienced when I receive calls, you pick up the phone and all you hear are beeps.
Not sure where to start on this one since I am not to familiar with IP phones

Thanks in advance for your help.

The problem lies with the network the beeps come from dropped packets. Assign a QOS button of F1058 this requires 3500 series SW.

Mextera.

Your firmware version of the IP phone may have the RTP alarm on (at default). Go into the phone set up hold + trf + * + #, then go to the admin menu hold + # + 0. Scroll down to option 0 for page 2, scroll down to RTP alarm and turn it off.

Remember it is beeping for a reason!
You may not have QOS configured and as a result the UDP stream is incomplete and missing packets that your network has dropped or mis-routed.
I fear you may turn off this indication and then your next post will be "Clipping and cut off calls with IP phones".
So don't forget to take a look at the cause before dismissing the effect.
