I am a technician at a facilty and our main phone 6550 is logged out and no one here knows the login. The phone tech is on vacation and wont be back till next week. Is there a way from another phone 6551 to call forward the calls for 6550 to 6551? If not, are there instructions that we can give to the assistant phone tech on how to get 6550 working since it is the critical phone number for the facility.
Thanks

Depends on whether your system has a password set. You can do it by going into CAT mode with the following sequence....
TRF CNF * TRF CNF # which should bring up CAT MODE in the display press LNR/SPD and you should get Command in the display. using the keys across the top they give a,b,c etc as you go from left to right you need to enter E600 then press RECALL 6550 RECALL 6551 CNF and that should do it if it says you need a password then you will have to call someone in or see if the assistant knows it.

Do I have to hit any other keys first, nothing seems to happen from the 6551 phone when I push those keys. I checked our com room and we have a NEAX IPS for the system and use Dterm IP 16 phones.
Thanks

I can get to CAT mode from the Ext 6551 phone, but when I do the commands, I get CODE NOT USED message, even though I can see that the call forwarding is right on the other phone that I did locally, just won't work from CAT.

Code not used means there is a password set on your system so unless you can find out what it is you are at a dead end. If you do find it at the command prompt dial 03 RECALL and then the level of password 0 to 7 (if you don't know which to use start at zero and work your way up) RECALL "Password" CNF. In OZ we often give the user a restricted password that is set to level 0 and is the main telephone number. The only other thing you can do is at the Command prompt dial 4010 RECALL 1 RECALL and this will display the extension number of your built in modem. If you then contact either a reputable dealer or NEC direct, they will be able to dial in and get past the password to set the call forward for you or even get 6550 working for you.

Why don't you just try Call Forwarding Destination?
From your station 6551 simply dial the access code, if it is available (*7 is the default), followed by the station number 6550. You should get service set tone. If you don't have this access code then you will have to have someone find that password and change via the MAT.

Good idea its also Known as call forwarding-I'm here but if you don't know the code it may be a little stretching for us to talk a complete novice through finding it. If you are still stuck though I will try. Lets face it you can't do any harm if you can't get past the password.
