NEAXMail IM-16 cut off.

I have a NEAXMail IM-16 installed in a 2000IPS. Sometimes when leaving a message it cuts you off after recording about 5 or 10 seconds. When you try and add to the message it cuts you off again after 5 to 10 seconds. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? This does not happen often but is an annoyance when it does.
