Hey All,

I am the contact between our PBX Vendor & Telco Provider so I am looking for some help to hopefully give direction to both...

Our issue is, we are receving calls at our SC site, these calls are then transferred to a site in MA. Once the incoming call is transferred to the MA site, the MA site cannot hear the Incoming caller. The incoming caller can hear the MA site.

Any ideas where I can start with this? PBX Vendor and/or Telco Provider?

Thank you

Check PAD setting in route data. NEC's recommemded setting for a T-1/PRI is 4 try changing it to 7 for no PAD. CDN 30.

We need to know what the link consists of in order to comment with any credibility.

For example you could have E&M links to a router and one of the speech paths could be down which would give one way speech. Or there could be some other link arrangement such as described above.

Let us know what we are dealing with and we can make informed suggestions!

I am being told that the PBX is Programmed APAD to -4dB for Outgoing calls (higher produced too much echo), and -10dB for Incoming calls on Tandem connection only.A Call comes into the site it is then Transferred, 1st Tandem Connection, Call is then Transferred back to the site, 2nd Tandem Connection. Second connection has no volume.) The calls are going through two separate systems using 4 separate outside lines to complete the connection.

Does that information help at all?

-10dB PAD on Tandem connections and from the scenario you descirbe it looks like you have about -30dB no wonder you have no volume. There is a command called APAD to elimnate/change the PAD settings on tandem connections you might look at that.
