Hi!

Can somebody advice me, we have a Neax2000IPS and when we did a hard reset (shut down), when we restored the service, all dial tones, digital and analog phone are very loud which makes it hard to use, but when you dial extensions and outside call, the line calms down and gives a clear voice.

We have been scouring the manual for some feature programming on this but to no avail.

Also, we purchased a CP-27 if we really have to replace the existing CP24, I read that the CP27 is for a dual CPU IPS, will this work if I only have one? Our system has 2 cabinets with 128 lines and ISDN.

Thanks hope anybody can help me, it's been more than a month.

The cp-27 should work as a stand alone CPU as a replacement. You need to make sure it has the licensing you need and the registration number. As for the loud dial tone, you got me on that one. You might try re seating the CPU. But get a back up first just in case. Sometimes after a few years you get a poor contact on the CPU pins and the only way to clean then is to unplug it then plug it back in. The system needs to be shut down first. I found that this cleans up unusual issues on occasion.

Thanks for the info, we already did a preventive cleaning of the whole system including the voice and ISDN cards, unfortunately, the same reaction persists.

Does this mean the existing CP24 is defective? There is no specific command to lower down the volume or control the dial tone parameters?

Again, thanks for assisting [bigsmile]

Check one of the default/basic command settings.
0400>01>none. A system reset is required if this is changed.

I'll give that a go, also, we are attempting to upload the CP24 backup to the CP27, is there any database format compatibility issues?

Again Thanks!

After loading the CP-27, you should perform the database conversion command. It may do nothing, however in some cases your system will not function properly if it is not done. There is no harm to do it if it is not necessary. This is an off line procedure, so the system will be down while it is being run. Once you set it in motion, wait until it comes back with "OK" before bringing the system back on line.
90 Execute the office data conversion
[Series 3200 R6.2 (R6.2)]
Set CPU sense wheel to 5 (9600 baud)
Connect with MatWorX
Switch to MOC mode
CMD 00>90>1=>0, EXE, wait for ok
After completese, set CPU sense wheel to 0. Do not press reset. It will reset by itself.

NOTE 1: When upgrading the software of the system from Series 3300 or before to Series 3400 or later
this data is required.
NOTE 2: When first data “90” is typed, second data “1” is displayed. Also while converting the office
data, “1” is displayed.
NOTE 3: There is no problem even if the office data conversion is executed again and again.

I am concerned that your backup will have the same problem. the backup is taken from the flash memory not the running memory. when you did a reset it loaded from the flash and your problem started. So it is quite possible the backup has the same problem.

I would suggest it is worth doing a full list up of your system and if worst comes to worst, you can load the system using the .CSV files the system list up creates. That way you can rebuild the system step by step seeing which load causes the problem and then stepping back and loading that one by hand. Might I also suggest buying an empty PIM as they can be picked up quite cheap (the IVS2 box is identical to the IPS box) and it will allow you to do the loading on a bench rather than on the live system, you can always sell it again after. For example

Just a note, in Australia There wasn't an IVS, here it was known as the ICS120. So the link posted refers to an IVS but if you look at the system layout, you will notice that the PSU is on the left (as in the IVS2 whereas the IVS/ICS had the PSU on the right)! As this is an Australian Ebay page you need to take this into account.

Thanks for the added support, I'll consider looking into this, although it will take time to re-program it but that's how it is. [bigsmile] i'll keep you update on this..hopefully it works!

Hi All!

Thanks for all the time and assistance provided, all the information/procedures are all listed for future use.

Just to update, after continuous troubleshooting and backup of the system, the dial tone suddenly went back to normal without any programming or shutdown initiated.

From this time we have been monitoring it for a more than a week and it seems like everything is back to 'normal'. Mind boggling!

Again thanks![bigsmile]
