HI,

We're having issue with our IPS, after a power outage and a warm IT room, the system was shutdown directly from it's power supply, after normal power resumed, the IPS was turned on, but no incoming calls were received, but outside calls are normal.

THe system uses a PN-DTB E1 line. The follow procedures were done:

> Powered down PN-DTB and waited a few second to turn on, same reaction
> Powered down system, lifted all cards and re-inserted, same reaction
> Uploaded a recent .ofd backup file, same reaction
> Reset the system (all red lights were active) and uploaded .ofd, same reaction
> Coordinated with the carrier, line has no problem, we were adviced that of a B channel not sending

We know this is not a programming or cable issue as it happened during a power outage and no personnel was even close to the system for weeks, could the PN-DTB card be defective?

Thanks!

Has your telco provider reset their circuit? This happened to me once and after a telco circuit reset it started working. Same issue outgoing was fine, incoming not. Since outgoing does work then it cannot be a B channel issue since that is needed for both way traffic.
Yes, it's possible that the card went bad, but given that it is working for outgoing, I do not think that is the case. The carrier checked the line for connectivity, but not their circuit for translation. In the US, carriers will shut down a circuit when they see alarms. Usually a restart will bring it back.

Thanks you for this information, we'll coordinate with the Telco for this and hopefully it works.

Hi Belevedere,

We had an update with the Carrier and they have restarted the connection, no errors were found but unfortunately, still no incoming call services, outgoing is still normal.
e
Is thee any way to restart the channels individually or the whole 30 channels? Or an R2 issue?

Thanks!

Can we replace a PN-DTB with a PN-DTA? The only difference in the vintage and one is made in Japan, other Philippines.
Thanks!

As long as it is a 30 port card. In the US we only use 24 port cards. T-1 VS E-1.

Thanks! So it seems the PN-DTA is defective.....

It's hard to say if the card is defective without swapping in a new one.

Hi Belevedere,

I'm back, we ordered a PN-DTA and finally arrived, we've managed to replace it and uploaded the last working .ofd but the reaction is still the same.

For the past weeks, the system can only do the following:

> Outgoing calls
> Ext. to Ext. calls
> Transfer/Conference/Pick up
> CDR output

Is there anything else we need to perform/program on the PN-DTA prior to installation?

Based on our checklist, is there any possibility that the CPU has some defect?

Again, Thanks for assisting!

Just to add.. when we install the newly arrived PN-DTA, only the RUN green led flashes, the rest does not. But when we put back the original PN-DTB, it's back to normal, without the incoming call feature.

Does this new PN-DTA need other programming for the IPS to sense it? Like and IP/MAC address or something?

Thanks again!

Just because you bought a PN-DTA card, doesn't mean you have the correct card. The functioning of that card is firmware dependent, it may be a Qsig card for example.

Ask your carrier to run a trace on your connection and find out why the calls are not being connected, it may give a clue as to what is wrong.

Thanks for the info, we have a reference card PN-DTA we got from another site, we plugged it and it worked on outgoing only.

This PN-DTA we found was just plugged in, our 'new' PN-DTA only has the 'RUN' led active.

Also, after observation, I noticed that the LC and LPB led is not lit, and based on the manual, both led (green) should be lit, but with ours, it does not.

When we initiate an incoming call, the BL Led lights up, when we hang the phone, it stops, meaning our call was identified by the system. If we float the E1 cables, the card also react by providing LED light to MFRM and FRM meaning signal loss on the far side, and we we put it back all led turns off.

This goes with our existing PN-DTB (orignal card on our system) and the PN-DTA (found on another site). The newly arrived PN-DTA has only the 'RUN'Led flashing.
