Hi All, this is my first post, however I've been reading here afor a while to help me with a few issues I've had. I'm a network engineer who's recently been tasked with taking responsability for a NEAX2000 system for a client of ours. I've been given two tasks that I'm very unsure on how to handle without blowing something up and I'm hoping someone can help.

Issue 1 - I've been asked to add DID to an existing extension. I've been given the number and I understand DID, but I cannot find the correct procedure for doing this via a management phone without deleting and re-adding the phone.

Issue 2 - I've also been asked to modify a dial plan. The existing plan has calls comming to an extension (209) then ringing to another extension (214) and finally going to the VM for 209. I've been asked to have the calls go directly from ring (at 209) to VM for 209. As an added twist, I need to do this remotely via MATworks. Aparently the "old phone admin" could do this, but having hunted through MATworks on my own, I cannot find anyplace to modify this information.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

If you are doing this from MATworx here are the procedures.
Issue 1- Open MOC Window and press F9 key this will bring you to Command= enter 11 and press F8 key; you should see 11> at this point, enter 000 for 2000IPS or 0000 for 2000IVS and press F8 you should see 11>000>XXX ( XXX = staton number) press F4 key until you see a space that states NONE ( 11>XXX>NONE ) enter the DID number and press F2 key and you will get a respone of OK. Now press F9 to get COMMAND= again, enter 9000 and press F8 ypu will see 9000> enter the station # and the key # you want teh line to DID to appear on ( 9000>XXX,XX ) press F8 and you'll see 9000>XXX,XX>NONE or whatever is programmed on that key, enter the DID and Press F2 and you're done.
Issue 2 - From the MOC Termianl window press F9 for COMMAND again, enter E602 for no answer E601 for busy, press F8 enter 209 press F8 enter the VM Pilot number press F2 and you done.

Thanks a million! The DID steps did the trick, however I ran into an issue with the call-forward removal. I could clear E601 (E602 was fine - rings out to VM), but the system wouldn't take the VM Pilot (39 on this particular system). My guess is there's another setting on the extension preventing this so I'll keep digging.

If an extension has a call back set on it it will not be able to set a call forward. You need to find out what your call back cancel code is and dial that into the offending extension. You do this by working through CMD 200 looking for the code set for call back cancel which is either A003 or 003 depending on your system type.

Thanks OzzieGeorge, going to have a look at it today. A few other issues have come up that took me away from this, but I'm getting a bit of a handle on it (I think).
