Hi been asked to change the COS of a handset on one of these systems. They want it to now be able to call out whereas before it was restricted.
I believe that I need to find a CAT terminal to make programming changes and I am assuming that I give the station the COS of 1 or 2 depending on how the trunk restrictions have been set up.

Any chance of a few pointers to get me out of trouble.

(I usually work on Panasonics)

Ah 7400 that would probably put you in Australia (like me) in other parts of the world it was known as the IVS (not to be confused with the IVS2 which we also had). Any digital phone is potentially a CAT terminal and if you check the FAQs here there are instructions on how to log in. There is one rider to the situation as it is possible to program away the ability to enter CAT mode so If you can't get in, that may be the reason. As for what COS to give it, just check a station that can do what you want this one to do and set it the same as that. Be wary of giving a COS of 1 as normally that is unrestricted.
